HOME // HARVEY
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me,
I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.
-Matthew 25:35-36 ESV
"It was a busy 26 hours as a shelter was provided by the amazing pastors in this area (Christ United), people displaced from their homes were cared for and then flown to safer, dryer areas. This temporary shelter was closed down about and no more donations are needed at this point."
- Pastor Jason Dohring, Galveston Bible Church
As of now the temporary shelter has been closed and no more donations are needed at this point. We have received emails and messages from people and churches all over the country wanting to know what they can do to help in any way.
Your support has truly been incredible. Similar to when God asked the children of Israel to give materials and time for the construction of the Tabernacle and the outpouring was so great that Moses had to tell the people to STOP. We had to turn donations away!
Special thanks for Mario's on 61st and Domino's for providing food to feed 52 evacuees and a couple dozen volunteers and that was just at our location, they also provided food for other shelters as well.
It is such a powerful thing to see the Body of Christ at work.
Christ Together, a network of pastors and churches on the island, is issuing a call to prayer at noon today. we want to pray specifically that God would stop the rain and that the floods would recede here and in all of Texas so that relief efforts can continue and restart where needed.
Please join us in prayer at noon.
